Welcome to the website of SPHER International Organization for the Protection of Human and Environment Rights,

Our organization is unique in the field of human rights and the environment for its different character, which has established both the principles of human rights and environmental protection in a single context. We at SPHER International believe that political stability is an essential basis for the protection of human rights and the environment. Since the dawn of human civilization, the violation of human rights and damage to the environment mainly happens in times of political instability. Therefore, SPHER International highlights this bridge linking human rights, the environment, and the political stability of nations and states.

Our organization is concerned with considering human rights and the environment as a single entity since we believe preserving environmental rights means preserving human rights. This goes hand in hand with the Human and Environment Rights Program, launched in 2012 in United Nations. SPHER adopts the environmental protection laws declared in UNEP, as well as the list of human rights proclaimed by the OHCHR.

Finally, by browsing our site, you will not only learn about our values, objectives, and activities, but you will also learn about the overall state of human rights and the environment around the world. Again, Welcome to our site.

Our Identity

The Society for the Protection of Human and Environmental Rights, shortened as “SPHER International” – was formerly Decency Limited. It is an international, non-governmental organization. SPHER International, Ltd. is headquartered in London. We are a private company limited by guarantee in England and Wales under registration number 08510651 since 2013. We are aiming to secure and uphold the rights outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Environmental Law. We are committed the fundamental principles of International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, and International Environmental Law.

Since January 2018, SPHER International has earned Advisory Status at the UN Economic and Social Council.

SPHER International is a self-governed, democratic, and financially autonomous organization. We are entirely independent of any government, political ideology, or economic interest. Moving forward, the organization plans to engage in fund-raising and grant-writing to establish its financial independence.

Our Methodology

At SPHER International, we believe that humanity is inherently good but sometimes the human part of us needs to be revived, encouraged or supported.  Plus, we believe that we as peoples are different in color, ideology and religion, but we are similar in our human history culture, which encourages us to improve our relationship and respect each other, as long as we share the planet.

Therefore, through our organization, we seek to reach out and assist all nations to uphold the basics of human and environmental rights, especially in times of crisis and conflicts. For example, since the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century, the Arab Spring revolutions began in some Arab countries, and then came  a revolution in Ukraine, Protests in Thailand, Brazil, Hong Kong and Turkey, coinciding with human and environmental rights violations in all these countries. Accordingly, we believe that it is important to restore security and stability to ensure the security of human rights and environmental protection.  And our approach to addressing these issues is as follows:

01

Attract attention

By using the media and social media to draw public attention to the significance of human and environment rights as the basis for political stability. To create interest by carrying out research in an objective manner to highlight the intersection between human rights, environmental concerns, and instability and/or conflict. Research will either be published or presented in a conference on the issue.

02

arouse desire

By providing a publicly accessible resource for educating others about these issues.

03

call for action

By liaising with international governmental and non-governmental organizations and local civilians in order to open dialogues as to the reasons for humanitarian and environmental crises, as well as promoting realistic solutions for addressing human rights and environmental abuses.

History & Background

SPHER International for Human and Environment rights was created as a result of dialogue analyses, which were conducted between a group of Arab intellectuals, on a social media in 2013.

3. Encouraging governments and non-state sectors, individuals, and civil society organizations to support and respect human rights and international environmental law, using awards and competitions.

4. Raising awareness, educating the public, and advocating for an understanding of the need to embrace the principles of these rights at all times. This is by supporting education and training courses in all areas.
